our principles

At Rainmakers, several guiding principles shape everything we do. Our teachings, methodologies, and minsitry all revolve around a simple idealogy: preach the Word and lives will change.

  • God isn't mysterious or hard to know.
  • We make disciples not converts.
  • Disciples abide in His Word.
  • Church is the people not the place.
  • No gap between clergy and laity.
  • We're "hungry" not "seeker" friendly.

what TO EXPECT

Worship on a Sunday Morning at Rainmakers won't be what you'e used to. If you ask our members, they'll tell you that's a good thing for alot of reasons. Just the same, the format can be different and unexpected to people used to a more traditional church experience.

A Brief Note From M. Patrick Gibson

Ok, the team says I have to talk a Iittle about what makes me, well, me. So here goes.

I'm not special. Nor is there some anointing that descended on me from heaven like a dove. I'm just an imperfect guy who's been around the block a few times when it comes to this little thing we call church...

What People Say

  • "Rainmakers teaches the Word to make disciples. So simple... teach the Word and the Holy Spirit will do the rest. I have so many 'aha!' moments lisening to the Word being taught here. One thing that really stood out was: the scriptures say the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destoy. We see that happen to people on a daily basis. But the clarification that the enemy comes to steal the Word was a revelation for me..."

    J. Childs
  • "I am a 'cradle christian' that has learned the Truth in the last six months at Rainmakers that my previous twenty years of church never taught. Rainmakers has given me a passion for the Word and for Christ that I have never had before. It is great to be held accountable for studying the Word rather than being spoon fed the revelations of someone else. For the first time, I am excited to go to church rather than feeling like it is an obligtion to fulfill on my weekly check list"

    E. Hawkins
  • "I'm in my sixties. I grew up a Methodist pastor's son. I was at church every sunday morning, sunday night, wednesday night - if the church doors were open I was there. The revelation of body, soul and spirit and God's love for me was so unlike anything I'd ever heard. How come nobody ever taught me this before?"
